The ISWK Counselling and Special Education department advocates the motto
"A child's mental health is equally important as their grades".
Schools can offer an ideal context for prevention, intervention, positive development, and collaboration between school and families, which is very crucial for a comprehensive approach to safe and successful schools. With the help of trained counselors in campus, our students have the opportunity to discuss mental health in a safe and understanding space.
Our team of Counselors is available to assist students and families with personal and academic questions and address concerns in one-on-one, group, and classroom settings. Our counselors teach Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) principles to students so they learn to maintain positive relationships, manage their emotions, set and achieve goals, and express themselves at a young age.
The counselors work with them in individual, small groups, and larger settings as well. The Counselors at ISWK are trained to provide short-term individual and group counseling to address mental, physical, and socio-emotional concerns that may be impacting students’ learning and/or their well-being. If a student requires long-term counseling, counselors can assist with locating resources outside of school to help support the student.
We respect and appreciate that every child is unique and learns in their own way. Our Student Support Team (SST) is a group of professionals with a range of expertise with elementary students who need additional learning support. This team responds to provide one-on-one support and additional resources as needed.

My passion is to provide opportunities to all our children to explore their own greatness - not just in being strong, but in the right use of that strength, and to support our parents so they feel heard... and most importantly, feel understood. We are all in this together."

Testimonials
Thank you for always being there for my child. We still remember the tough time we faced with her but with your kind cooperation, the path to recovery could be found. We will forever be grateful for all your help, advice and the way you handled her, so she could be at ease. Her progress from K.G. 1 to K.G. 2 was praiseworthy in terms of her behavioral skills and speech too. It was all possible because of your tremendous efforts and patience. She is very fond of you because you were the one with whom she found her comfort zone and then there was no looking back. Your sweet nature and understanding towards She has changed her for good. We will miss a wonderful counsellor like you. Our best wishes to you ma’am. May you keep changing many more lives with your lovely smile and gentle heart.
With Thanks and Warm Regards - Mr. & Mrs.Asthana
It was all nice and productive counselling sessions experienced by both the child and by us. We could see there is an improvement in my child’s focus on studies since she started going to school.
Mr. & Mrs. Khan
We had a very good counseling session experience. I myself could see the difference in him. I would like it to continue. Thanks to the management system for this initiative.
Mr. & Mrs. Asher
At the outset,it was our pleasure meeting you in regards to my daughter and taking your guidance and advice regarding her career and further higher studies which helped me think through our situation.
Your meeting also helped her to choose the right subject for higher studies.I really appreciate your advice and encouragement to her during the time of exam.
Finally BIG Thank you for being a friendly counselor who cares for everyone you work with. God bless you.
Mr.Fernandes
I am finding these sessions very useful as my daughter is a difficult child and I need help in embedding some discipline and good values in her.
Also being twins I find it difficult to reinforce discipline on them, as both can partner to disobey the rules (as it serves their purpose).
I trust your advice and methodology.
Mr.& Mrs.Neerukonda
Your counseling sessions have been very useful to my child. I am also learning many things from your session and I follow them at home as well.I can see a remarkable difference in my child’s behaviour.
Thanks for this Ma'am
Mr. & Mrs.Vijayarahavan
